As a private owner, I own and keep up my unit personally. I personally travel to Kauai usually 4 times/year to visit, relax, and to make sure my unit is kept up to the high standards I demand for my guests.
Renting from the resort directly (or through 3rd party websites like Hotels.com) does NOT guarantee you a specific room. You are left up to chance, and the renovated rooms often go to the timeshare owners.
By renting through a private owner, you know exactly which room you will be staying in, what your view is, and where you are located at the resort. You also have a contact person (me) to ask questions, help plan your trip, and if for any reason there are issues.
You still have full access to the front desk and all of the amenities of the resort as my guest.
Yes, you do. In order to be able to see all that Kauai has to offer, it is recommended to rent a car. The bus system on the island is not geared toward visitors, and has limits to what you may have with you. There is only one highway on the island, and the roads are surprisingly easy to navigate.
The condo is located in a quieter, more private area of the resort, with little foot traffic. It is a short walk to the smaller round pool and barbeque area, and just a 3-4 minute walk to the main lagoon style pool. The beach (Pu'u Poa) shared by Hanalei Bay Resort and the St. Regis Resort is approximately a 10 minute walk. There are bellmen at the resort with golf carts who can take you anywhere on the property (including to and from the beach) at no charge.
The Bali Hai Restaurant is currently closed. The Happy Talk Lounge is now open, and serves lunch and dinner with music until 9pm. The resort also features the ONLY swim up pool bar on the island!
New, energy efficient air conditioning units are located in the living room of 7102, the bedroom of 7102, and the bedroom of 7101 for your comfort. There are also ceiling fans in these rooms.
The reservation deposit is non-refundable once it is made. Once the final payment is made at 30 days this becomes non-refundable as well. The cleaning fee can be refunded only if the reservation is cancelled. Purchasing trip insurance is generally inexpensive and recommended.
This applies to every reservation.
The total payable to myself, the Owner, includes the rental fee, Hawaii taxes, and the cleaning fee ($85, $155, or $200 based upon which unit is rented).
Additional fees due to the resort:
- Resort fee: $20/night plus tax
- Parking fee: $6/night plus tax
Both are required
A guest could incur additional fees from the Owner during their stay due to damage beyond the normal wear and tear, or due to excessive cleaning that occurred during their stay. Please read the rental agreement for more details.
For reservations more than 30 days in advance, a reservation deposit of 20% or $300 (whichever is greater) is required. The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival. For reservations 30 days or less in advance, the full balance is required. There is no security deposit.
Payments for all reservations are payable to myself, the Owner. We accept Visa and Mastercard, but do not accept checks.
Your keys are available from the front desk. All that you need to do when you arrive at the resort is go to the front desk, and give them your name and room number. They'll have your keys waiting for you! Remember to return all keys to the front desk at check-out time, as the resort does charge a fee for lost keys.
Fresh linens and the following starter supplies are provided free of charge. Additional supplies can be purchased at the sundry shop or the Foodland grocery store in the Princeville Shopping Center.
