Pros: Owner was a great person to work with from initial inquiry through the stay; she was super responsive and efficient. The condo description and pictures accurately depicted the rental unit. The unit was quiet with a very nice view. It was clean, well maintained, and spacious enough for 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child). The bedroom was large, the king size bed was very comfortable; the kitchen well stocked with almost every utensil you could think of, and having a dishwasher, and washer/dryer in the unit was great. There were also 2 air conditioners: one in the living room and one in the bedroom. There were also beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, and other beach items readily available which was an added benefit. The location of the resort is also very nice and convenient to many nearby attractions. Cons: The fold away twin bed was very springy and required extra blankets under the sheets in order to be relatively comfortable. Because of that, I would say the unit is better suited for 2 people rather than 3 if you have all adults. And despite knowing that the unit was on the edge of the property as it was described, it was a bit of a walk each time you came and went from the property. There are golf carts that will take you to and fro but sometimes it's not worth the hassle to wait around. During our stay, the main a/c unit completely broke but the owner responded immediately and within 36 hours of our reporting the problem, a brand new unit was installed. The only other issue was the Hanalei Bay Resort property renovation which affected the overall experience. Not only was the Happy Talk Lounge and Bali Hai restaurant closed, but they are upgrading other areas as well. Among other things, there was a temporary main lobby, no fitness center, and the main swimming pool filtration system was being upgraded so the pool water was cloudy and green. The resort said the water was tested and met all Department of Health Standards and, therefore, swimming was okay. However the check in staff led us to believe it would only last a day or two, but the pool was like this during our entire 10 day stay (and apparently had been at least since 7/13 according to a trip advisor review). Although that is beyond the parameters of the condo rental and the owner's control, it still impacted our overall resort experience, especially when you are paying daily resort fees. Despite these issues, I would still highly recommend this property and would stay again.

I’m so glad that you enjoyed the amenities of my condo! I try to provide everything that my guests need to have a wonderful experience on Kauai, and more. Thank you for letting me know that the roll-a-way bed was not comfortable – I’ve ordered a replacement which will hopefully provide a much more relaxing sleeping experience for future guests. I really appreciate your patience and understanding when the AC was not working properly! I worked to do everything that I could in order to rectify the situation as fast as possible, and I’m so glad that you were not without cool air in the living area for very long. Unfortunately, before your stay the filter for the upper pool had broken and was not functioning. The resort did install a temporary replacement, but this also was not effective. A new filter was then ordered and flown in from off island. I completely understand how you feel when you say that this detracted from your overall experience, and I’m glad that I was able to get your resort fees reversed. My listings as well as my private website and rental agreement notify all of my guests of the current renovations on the Bali Hai Restaurant and Happy Talk Lounge. I hope that you’ll return once they have reopened and have a wonderful dinner overlooking some of the best views on the island! I look forward to having you as a guest again.

Clean, quiet and well furnished! We found everything to be just as the pictures and descriptions represented…all you could need, except perhaps some salt, pepper and spices for cooking. All the furnishings were very clean and in great condition and the A/C made sleeping pleasant. And, having the private washer/dryer was a bonus! We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the lanai, enjoying the views and the occasional visit from the Nene Geese, chickens, roosters, Common Myrna and Zebra Doves. The small pool is equipped with 3 BBQ grills, only a short walk away. We brought our own mask and snorkel but needed to rent fins, so we rented directly from the resort for only $4 per day. Parking at the resort is pretty much a hassle and #7102 is about as far away as you can get, but it worked out just fine, and a little exercise is always good! Of course, the resort staff are always happy to give you a ride, but we just chose to always walk instead. Loved the main pool and hot tub! Lastly, working with Lisa was a pleasure as she was always friendly, efficient, informative and patient. We would highly recommend #7102!

Well the world didn't end and my husband and I had an amazing 1st time on this beautiful island! The condo is beautiful and boy that view is gonna be hard to leave! We had everything we need and we have to thank you for those boogie boards... We used them for a good 5 hrs. We are from central California and visit Carmel by the sea often but I have never been in the ocean so long! We kayaked, hiked, swam under a waterfall and dined! We will be sharing your info w/ friends & family. I'm sure we will use your place in the future!

Our unit was well equipped, spacious, clean and with a beautiful view of the bay and Bali Hai mountain. It is at the bottom of the development so the walk up and down from the parking lot is strenuous. It is also a strenuous walk to the beach, which it shares with the neighboring St Regis hotel, but it is a pretty walk and a really nice beach. The nearby town of Hanalei is fun and the caves and nearby beaches and the lighthouse are great visits. But, after 3 days, we had pretty much done what is available and were ready to move on to explore the south end of the island.

How lucky we feel to have stayed in this condo! It was cozy and had the most incredible views of the bay, mountains and ocean. Located at the bottom of the resort with unobstructed views, we hardly ever even saw another person. It was so serene. The kitchen had everything and more to cook meals and all the beach equipment made it all perfect for every need. Having a washer dryer in the unit was very handy. My favorite part of the condo was relaxing out on the lanai watching the wildlife and the view. There is so many wonderful things to do and see in the vicinity of this condo, it truly was an excellent choice for our stay. We will recommend it to friends and will stay there again when we go back!!

Been to Hanalei Bay Resort many times so we love the location. This condo was awesome. Everything is new and it is very well equipped. It is on the back corner so it is very quiet and private. It is right by the adult pool and BBQ's. I always like walking but you can call the front desk for a ride on the golf cart if you like. They show up within what it seems to be about 30 seconds. This was our first experience with VRBO and were very pleased. Owner was very helpful and offered many suggestions about the area.
